Brand new course for 2024! The 34km MTB ventures up to Billy Goat Point on Motutapu Island for stunning views of Waiheke, Rakino, and beyond to begin with. You’ll ride along the less visited Northwestern coast of the island, past Sandy Bay (arguably the best beach on the island) and Raupōiti (Administration Bay) - though the outdoor education camp. You are back on the gravel for a few kms as you make your way towards Rangitoto.

Passing the causeway between the two islands, you will do a full loop of Rangitoto, getting a taste of NZ’s largest Pohutukawa Forest and the immense bird life this island is known for. There is a big climb up to the summit at around 200m, then you’ll descend down the other side (take it extra easy on this downhill!), and finally cruise along the south western coastline before making your way back to Motutapu.

There is one final climb up to the highest point on Motutapu (121m) before descending to the finish in Te Pehi o Manawatere (Home Bay). Grab an ice cold Speights and soak up the atmosphere.
